BECOME A MEMBER

Membership is the principal way for students to become active participants in the TI’s mission to promote the Thomistic intellectual tradition. Members join a community of students living according to the spirit of St. Thomas Aquinas and are thus united intellectually and spiritually in the Thomistic tradition.

What is a Thomistic Institute member?

Membership establishes a student’s formal affiliation with the international Thomistic Institute network. All members receive an official membership card, thus becoming an ambassador for Thomism on their campus. Members are the core of the TI presence on campus. They drive the community-building efforts of the chapter through participation in lectures, seminars, reading groups, and social gatherings. And thus they participate in the spiritual benefits associated with the Thomistic Institute.

Members receive:

  • Invitations to members-only events including small group seminars and dinners with TI speakers;

  • Eligibility to run for student leadership positions;

  • Opportunities to connect with peer chapters at other universities;

  • Quarterly email newsletters from the national TI office with exclusive resources for understanding and spreading the Thomistic tradition.

Who can become a member?

Any current student or faculty affiliated with a Thomistic Institute chapter is eligible for membership. Students (whether undergraduate or graduate) currently enrolled in a university without a TI chapter are encouraged to either start a new chapter or reach out to the DC office to inquire about non-chapter membership. Seminarians are also welcome to become members.

How can I become a member?

Your chapter leaders will gladly help you enroll as an official member of the Thomistic Institute. Registering for membership requires a one-time enrollment fee of $5. For any inquiries regarding membership, please contact us at thomisticinstitute@dhs.edu.
