10th Annual Aquinas Philosophy Workshop

Each summer the Thomistic Institute sponsors a four-day workshop for students and lovers of philosophy. The conference features renowned presenters from prestigious universities around the world and for the first time this year will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenville, South Carolina. The topic for the 10th Annual Summer Philosophy Workshop is"Aquinas on Knowledge, Truth, and Wisdom.”

Registration:

Graduate students, talented undergraduates and all lovers of wisdom are invited to attend.

Student Registration: $195 | Non-student Registration: $295

Registration fees cover all meals during the conference, lecture sessions, roundtable discussions, conference materials and recreations.

Travel & Lodging:

Registration costs do not include travel and lodging.

Discounted hotel rooms are available through the Hyatt Regency Greenville. Students who receive a scholarship will also receive lodging at the Hyatt for the duration of the conference. All others should make their own arrangements for accommodations.

For those planning to fly, the closest major airport is is Greenville Spartanburg Airport (GSP) is approximately 10 minutes from downtown.

Scholarships:

A limited number of scholarships are available for graduate students. Scholarships include all conference fees as well as lodging for the duration of the workshop.

If you are interested in applying for a scholarship, please apply and wait for confirmation prior to registering online.

The application deadline for scholarships is March 31st. Decisions will be given shortly after Easter.

Call for Papers:

The Thomistic Institute invites graduate students in philosophy, theology, religious studies, medieval studies, and related disciplines to submit papers for this conference. A panel of four, 20-minute papers from selected graduate students will take place on Thursday, June 24.

One-page proposals should be emailed to Mary Starnes at thomisticinstitute@dhs.edu by May 3. Decisions on paper proposals with invitations to present will be sent by May 21.
