Each summer the Thomistic Institute sponsors a four-day workshop for students and lovers of philosophy. The conference features renowned presenters from prestigious universities around the world and for the first time this year will take place at the home of the Thomistic Institute: the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, DC. The topic for the 11th Annual Summer Philosophy Workshop is"Aquinas on the Soul.”

Call for Papers:

The Thomistic Institute invites graduate students in philosophy, theology, religious studies, medieval studies, and related disciplines to submit papers for this conference. A panel of graduate student papers will take place on Friday, May 27.

One-page proposals should be emailed to Katie Brizek at kbrizek@dhs.edu by April 1. Decisions on paper proposals with invitations to present will be sent shortly after Easter.

Registration:

Graduate students, talented undergraduates and all lovers of wisdom are invited to attend.

Student Registration: $295 | Non-student Registration: $395

Registration fees cover all meals during the conference, lodging, lecture sessions, roundtable discussions, conference materials and recreations.

Travel & Lodging:

Lodging will be arranged for all registrants at the Catholic University of America. DC locals may inquire about a discounted commuter rate.

For those planning to fly, the most convenient airport is Reagan National Airport (DCA). Participants are recommended to fly into DCA and take the metro from the airport to the Brookland-CUA stop (roughly 45 min).

Scholarships:

A limited number of scholarships are available for full-time students. Scholarships include all conference fees as well as lodging for the duration of the workshop. Scholarships do not include travel expenses. The application deadline for scholarships is April 1. Decisions will be given shortly after Easter.
